Dane defends himself against controversy over employment figures

No es la primera vez que se ciernen dudas sobre los resultados de las cifras de empleo en Colombia, desde que el indicador se ubica en un solo dígito, pero durante el fin de semana de puente festivo se cuajó una polémica alrededor de publicaciones que se refirieron a un estudio de la Universidad de Antioquia en el cual se estarían cotejando los números de la Unidad de Gestión de Pensiones y Parafiscales-UGPP y el Dane.

Las publicaciones se refieren a un cruce de datos entre la formalidad que registra el Dane y la seguridad social que tiene la UGPP, la cual evidencia los pagos reales.

Al respecto, el Dane afirma que desde mayo está solicitando , como todos los ciudadanos y en particular los analistas, el mencionado estudio de la Universidad de Antioquia, y hasta el momento no ha recibido respuesta.

Igualmente, la entidad de las estadísticas manifiesta que sus cifras del mercado laboral “son públicas y verificables”.

Además, el Dane explicó la manera en la que adelantan el levantamiento de la información, los análisis y los resultados consolidados, con el propósito de argumentar los números que han generado controversia.

Argumentos del Dane

1. El análisis no incorpora la Actualización del Marco 2018, vigente en la GEIH desde 2021 y publicada en la página web del DANE.

2. El estudio compara la encuesta de hogares (GEIH) con los registros administrativos de seguridad social, como la Planilla Integrada de Liquidación de Aportes (PILA). Son fuentes que miden objetos distintos y, por ende, llevan a resultados diferentes sin que esto implique que la cifra definitiva esté mal.

3. El debate sobre las cifras de interés nacional debe darse en el terreno técnico, con pleno contexto metodológico y sin interés político.
