On olemassa selvät perusteet sille, miksi juuri Sofia Virran tosi-tv-seikkailusta nousi niin iso puheenaihe, kirjoittaa politiikan toimittaja Joakim Kullas.

– En kadu mukaan lähtemistä, vihreiden puheenjohtaja Sofia Virta kommentoi tiistaina medialle kohua osallistumisestaan Erikoisjoukot -televisiosarjaan.
Virta kertoi tiedotustilaisuudessaan, että päätös ohjelmaan lähtemisestä oli pitkään harkittu ja etukäteen suunniteltu. Tarkoitus oli kuulemma kasvaa ihmisenä ja johtajana. Moni muukin poliitikko on osallistunut erilaisiin tosi-tv-sarjoihin, joista osan kohdalla on noussut kohuja ja osan ei.
Esimerkkinä isosta tosi-tv-kohusta voi pitää SDP:n kansanedustajaa Miapetra Kumpula-Natria , joka oli peräti kaksi viikkoa poissa eduskuntatyöstä Suuri seikkailu -ohjelman takia. Lopulta asiasta käytiin keskustelua puhemiesneuvostossa, joka käsitteli mahdollisuutta palkkion pidättämiseen.
Myös esimerkiksi liikunta-, urheilu- ja nuorisoministeri Mika Poutala (kd) osallistui Erikoisjoukkoihin ennen ministeriksi nousemistaan ja oli poissa kuudesta täysistunnosta.
Miksi juuri Virran kohdalla Erikoisjoukkoihin osallistumisesta nousi näin iso kohu? Tästä on riittänyt puhetta sosiaalisessa mediassa.
Syitä on monia.
Taustalla on myös tapa, jolla vihreät koko asian hoitivat. Jos Virran poissaolo oli suunniteltu etukäteen, se oli tehty huonosti.
Koko tapahtumaketju lähti liikkeelle, kun Virran poissaolo eduskunnasta alkoi herättää viime viikolla huomiota. Edes vihreiden kansanedustajat eivät tienneet, missä heidän puheenjohtajansa on. Ei ole kovin tavanomaista, että puolueen puheenjohtaja vain häviää.
Virta oli ilmoittanut poissaolonsa syyksi henkilökohtaisen syyn, jollaiseksi luetaan lähinnä oma tai läheisen sairastuminen. Ei tosi-tv.
Sitten Iltalehti paljasti , että Virran poissaolon syy oli Erikoisjoukkojen kuvauksiin osallistuminen. Esiin nousi heti kysymys, joka on oikeastaan keskeinen syy siihen, miksi asiasta tuli lopulta etusivun uutinen.
Oliko vihreät yrittänyt pimittää julkisuudelta puheenjohtajansa osallistumisen televisiokuvauksiin, kun muut kansanedustajat istuivat täysistunnossa painamassa äänestysnappia?
Kysymyksen herätti nimenomaan se, että poissaolo oli ilmoitettu väärin. Todellisuudessa tällaiselle poissaololle ei voi ilmoittaa mitään syytä.
Lisäksi vihreiden eduskuntaryhmälle ei ollut ilmoitettu poissaolon syyksi televisiokuvauksia, vaan pelkkä henkilökohtainen syy. Asiasta kertoi vihreiden eduskuntaryhmän puheenjohtaja Oras Tynkkynen .
Iltalehti kertoi vihreiden sisäpiirilähteiden pohjalta , että moni puolueen eduskuntaryhmästä joutui lukemaan poissaolon syystä lehdestä, mikä herätti hämmennystä. Kysymyksiä ei vähentänyt se, että vihreät korjasi Virran poissaolon syyn vasta sen todellisen syyn paljastuttua ja väitti sitä virheelliseksi.
Vihreiden kaltaisen keskisuuren puolueen ja Virran itsensä voisi olettaa tietävän, miten poissaolojen ilmoittaminen eduskuntaan toimii. Kun poissaoloa lähdetään korjaamaan vasta sen paljastuttua, se näyttää ulospäin palavan roskakorin sammuttelemiselta.
Kohu nousi myös Virran vaikutusvaltaisen aseman takia. Hän ei ole rivikansanedustaja, vaan potentiaalisen hallituspuolueen puheenjohtaja, jonka tekemisiä seurataan siksi tarkemmin.
Esimerkiksi Poutala tai Kumpula-Natri eivät olleet tosi-tv -seikkailunsa aikaan Virtaan verrattavassa asemassa.

Viimeisenä on myös syytä mainita vihreiden hiljaisuus puheenjohtajansa puolustamisessa. On tyypillistä, että kohun keskellä puolueen edustajat ryhmittäytyvät puheenjohtajansa taakse ja puolustavat tätä julkisesti, varsinkin jos puheenjohtajan koetaan toimineen oikein.
Esimerkiksi Pekka Haaviston (vihr) väärinkäytökset ulkoministerinä al-Holin -pakolaisleirin tapauksessa osoittavat, että vihreät osaa virittää koneistonsa omiensa tueksi, jos vain tarve vaatii.
Kun perustuslakivaliokunta oli todennut Haaviston menetelleen lainvastaisesti al-Holin leirin kotiuttamisoperaatiossa, vihreät rummutti sosiaalisessa mediassa tapauksessa olleen kyse lasten oikeuksien puolustamisesta.
