A woman has been seriously injured after being trapped underneath a telegraph pole in a train station car park.

South Wales Police said officers were called at about 12:50 BST on Thursday to Pontyclun train station after reports that two women had become trapped.

The pair were taken to the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, where they are receiving medical treatment.

The police said they were in discussion with the Health and Safety Executive regarding the investigation into the incident.
