JEDAN motociklist je poginuo, a drugi je teško ozlijeđen u prometnoj nesreći koja se jutros oko 4:40 dogodila na državnoj cesti D8 kod Dubrovnika, na predjelu Vidikovac.
U nesreći su sudjelovala dva motocikla i skup vozila, odnosno teretno vozilo s priključnim vozilom.
Prema rezultatima policijskog očevida, 35-godišnji motociklist dubrovačkih registracija vozio je iz smjera Dubrovnika prema Konavlima. U preglednom zavoju počeo je pretjecati teretno vozilo s priključnim vozilom preko pune razdjelne crte, a da se prije toga nije uvjerio da to može učiniti sigurno.
Tada se frontalno sudario s motociklom dubrovačkih registracija kojim je iz suprotnog smjera prema Dubrovniku vozio 38-godišnjak.
Vozač koji je, prema policiji, izazvao nesreću poginuo je na mjestu. Drugi motociklist zadobio je teške ozljede i hospitaliziran je u Općoj bolnici Dubrovnik.
Policija je utvrdila da 38-godišnji motociklist nema položenu A2 kategoriju, potrebnu za upravljanje motociklom kojim je vozio u trenutku nesreće.
Promet bio zatvoren do 7:25
Promet na tom dijelu D8 bio je zatvoren za sva vozila tijekom očevida i odvijao se alternativnim pravcima.

Tijelo poginulog motociklista prevezeno je na Odjel patologije Opće bolnice Dubrovnik, gdje će se utvrditi točan uzrok smrti.
Policija apelira na vozače
Policija je nakon nesreće ponovno pozvala vozače motocikala i mopeda na oprez.
Vozačima poručuju da brzinu prilagode uvjetima na cesti, da obvezno nose homologiranu i pravilno pričvršćenu zaštitnu kacigu, da poštuju pune crte i prometne znakove te da ne pretječu ondje gdje je to zabranjeno.
Također ih pozivaju da voze s upaljenim svjetlima, koriste reflektirajuću odjeću i održavaju dovoljan razmak od vozila ispred sebe.
