Ukrainian Ambassador to Cyprus Nizhinsky resigned

Sergiy Nizhynsky, Ukraine's Ambassador to Cyprus, has submitted his resignation to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He cited the request by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to carry out decisions that contradict Ukrainian law and could harm the state. Nizhynsky stated he is acting in accordance with the Law of Ukraine 'On Diplomatic Service'. He presented his credentials to the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, in September 2025.

Надзвичайний і Повноважний Посол України в Республіці Кіпр Сергій Ніжинський написав заяву про відставку на ім'я Президента України Володимира Зеленського.

Ніжинський просить прийняти відставку "у зв'язку з вимогою Міністра закордонних справ України Сибіги А. І. виконувати рішення, які суперечать законодавству України і можуть завдати шкоди державі".

Він додав, що під час звільнення керується нормами закону України "Про дипломатичну службу".

Ніжинський вручив оригінал вірчої грамоти, підписаної Президентом України Володимиром Зеленським, Президенту Республіки Кіпр Нікосу Христодулідісу у вересні 2025 року.
