Russians in shock after the attacks on Moscow.

Ukrainian forces conducted attacks on Moscow during the night of June 17–18, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as a response to Russian attacks on Kyiv that caused fires, including at the historic Lavra Pecerska monastery. The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that these attacks caused panic among Moscow residents and raised concerns about the effectiveness of Russia’s air defense systems. The attacks led to flight suspensions at major airports, fuel shortages due to refinery fires, and increased anxiety among Russian military bloggers and commentators. Some of

W nocy z 15 na 16 czerwca dziesiątki

ukraińskich dronów ponownie zaatakowały aglomerację moskiewską. Mer rosyjskiej

stolicy Siergiej Sobianin poinformował o strąceniu od wczesnych godzin

porannych aż 60 takich maszyn, a działanie wstrzymały nad ranem wszystkie

podmoskiewskie lotniska: Domodiedowo, Żukowskij, Wnukowo i Szeremietiewo.

Równolegle doszło do ataku znacznie dalej na południu. W magazynach ropy

I Zachód w to uwierzył.

To językowa kalka z angielskiego Anti-Access/Area Denial bubble (A2/AD) .

S-400 Triumf i wprowadzany do służby S-500 stanowiły warstwę dalekiego zasięgu.

That's why they attacked Moscow.

Ukrainian drones attacked a refinery in Moscow for the second time this week, causing a major fire visible from many kilometers away. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this was a justified response to Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities. The attack targeted a critical fuel infrastructure facility located approximately 15 kilometers from the Kremlin, leading to flight suspensions at major airports in the capital.

Ukraine has overturned the myth of Russia's reliable air defense.

On June 15-16, dozens of Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow and surrounding areas, with over 60 drones shot down early in the morning. Airports in the Moscow region were closed, and similar alerts were issued across multiple Russian regions. A drone strike also caused a fire at an oil depot near Poltavskaya village, north-west of Krasnodar. The article notes that Russia's vast territory makes it difficult to defend against such attacks comprehensively.
