O Sporting reduziu ainda para 1-2 e 2-4, por Alessandro Verona (32) e Facu Bridge (43), mas foi impotente para travar o triunfo contrário, tendo o Benfica marcado mais três golos, através de Gonçalo Pinto (33), Lucas Ordoñez (35) e Zé Miranda (48).
O Benfica, que continua sem derrotas na presente edição do campeonato, está assim a apenas um triunfo de alcançar o 25.º título nacional, num palmarés liderado pelo FC Porto, com 26, enquanto o Sporting, vencedor este ano da Taça de Portugal e da Supertaça, persegue o 10.º título.
O terceiro jogo da final está agendado para as 15:00 de sábado, no pavilhão da Luz, enquanto, caso haja necessidade, o quarto jogo realiza-se no pavilhão João Rocha, em 24 de junho, e o quinto novamente no pavilhão da Luz, em 27 de junho.
Esta é a segunda vez que Benfica e Sporting disputam a final desde que o formato de play-off foi reintroduzido, em 2020/21, depois de em 2022/23 os ‘encarnados’ terem chegado ao título, impondo-se com três vitórias contra uma dos "leões".
