The Norwegian government proposes increasing the employment rate for part-time workers in healthcare and care services to address staffing shortages. Regjeringen mener det enkelttiltaket som kan ha størst effekt for økt tilbud av arbeidskraft, er økt stillingsprosent for ansatte i helse- og omsorgstjenestene som i dag ikke arbeider i en fulltidsstilling.

– Dersom stillingsprosenten øker med 10 prosent for alle alders- og utdanningsgrupper, kan det gi opptil 22.000 flere årsverk i 2040, sier helse- og omsorgsminister Jan Christian Vestre (Ap).

Forslaget er en del av Helsepersonellplan 2040 som tar for seg hvordan man skal møte mangelen på personell i helse- og omsorgstjenestene.
