Promoting the graphic novel "The Church and the Plagues of Glory"

At the Book Fair in Pristina, the graphic novel 'Gjergji dhe Plagët e Lavdisë' by author Blerim Gjoci was promoted. The work is inspired by the legend of Gjergj Elez Alia and presents a new artistic interpretation of Gjergji's story, including his childhood, love life, battles against evil, and journey toward glory. According to the author, the idea for the project originated in childhood with the desire to create a Albanian superhero presented in the format of graphic novels similar to those of Marvel and DC Comics. Në kuadër të Panairit të Librit në Prishtinë është promovuar romani grafik “Gjergji dhe Plagët e Lavdisë” i autorit Blerim Gjoci.

Vepra vjen si një roman grafik modern në stilin e ‘comic book’, i frymëzuar nga legjenda e Gjergj Elez Alisë. Pas një pune shumëvjeçare dhe hulumtimesh mbi mitologjinë, folklorin dhe historinë ilire, autori sjell historinë e Gjergjit në një univers të ri artistik, ku rrëfehen fëmijëria e tij, dashuria, betejat kundër së keqes dhe rrugëtimi drejt lavdisë.

Sipas autorit, ideja për realizimin e këtij projekti lindi që në fëmijëri, nga dëshira për të krijuar një super-hero shqiptar të paraqitur në formën e novelave grafike, të ngjashme me personazhet e njohur të Marvel dhe DC Comics.

Gjatë promovimit u tha se romani grafik synon t’i afrojë brezat e rinj me trashëgiminë kulturore shqiptare përmes një forme bashkëkohore rrëfimi dhe ilustrimi. “Gjergji dhe Plagët e Lavdisë” do të jetë në dispozicion të lexuesve në Panairin e Librit, ku të interesuarit mund të sigurojnë ekzemplarin e tyre dhe të takojnë autorin.
