Young man killed in waterway accident

A young man died in a water traffic accident on Lake Louhi in Mikkeli, Finland. The incident occurred early in the morning when a non-motorized boat capsized, causing four young men to fall into the water. Three of them managed to reach the shore safely and were evacuated to the hospital. The fourth man was found by divers from the South Savo Rescue Department and was confirmed dead. Etelä-Savon pelastuslaitoksen sukeltajat löysivät yhden miehistä hukkuneena.

Mies hukkui vesiliikenneonnettomuudessa Louhijärvellä Mikkelissä aamuyöllä, tiedottaa Itä-Suomen poliisi.

Hätäkeskukseen ilmoitettiin juhannusaattoaamuna kello 4.25 Mikkelissä tapahtuneesta onnettomuudesta, jossa yksi henkilö hukkui.

Onnettomuudessa moottoriton soutuvene kaatui, minkä seurauksena veden varaan joutui yhteensä neljä nuorta miestä. Heistä kolme pääsi omin avuin saaren rantaan, josta heidät evakuoitiin ja kuljetettiin sairaalaan.

Etelä-Savon pelastuslaitoksen sukeltajat hakivat neljännen mantereelle. Tämä oli hukkunut. Hänet löydettiin veneen lähistöltä.

Poliisin mukaan kaikki miehet olivat täysi-ikäisiä. Heillä ei ollut käytössään pelastusliivejä.

Poliisi tutkii asiaa kuolemansyyn selvittämisenä. Alkuselvittelyissä ei ole tullut esille tietoja, joiden perusteella asiassa olisi syytä epäillä rikosta.

Paikalla oli sekä poliisin, pelastuslaitoksen että ensihoidon yksiköitä.
