O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) ficou isolado na reunião ampliada do G7, realizada nesta semana na França. Enquanto lideranças mundiais trabalharam para resolver controvérsias com o presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, e apoiar seu esforço para encerrar a guerra do Irã, Lula procurou o confronto e acabou tendo suas pautas ignoradas pelos demais participantes da cúpula.
Enquanto líderes do G7 e países convidados concentraram suas atenções em construir apoio para o acordo de paz com o Irã e dar suporte à defesa da Ucrânia contra a Rússia, Lula adotou um tom crítico à cúpula baseado no velho discurso da esquerda.
"Em nenhuma [cúpula do G7] conseguimos construir respostas coletivas e duradouras. Ficamos aprisionados em dogmas que defendem desregulamentação de mercados, Estado mínimo e austeridade fiscal como fins em si mesmos", disse o presidente brasileiro aos demais líderes.
Durante seus discursos, Lula também fez críticas indiretas a posições associadas ao governo Trump. Em uma das intervenções, o petista afirmou que o combate ao crime organizado transnacional não pode servir de justificativa para violações da soberania dos países. A declaração foi interpretada por analistas como um recado às pressões americanas por maior cooperação regional na área de segurança.
Para o estrategista internacional Cezar Roedel, doutor em Filosofia e mestre em Relações Internacionais, o presidente brasileiro apresentou uma agenda desconectada das prioridades que mobilizaram os líderes presentes no G7.
“Lula apresentou uma agenda completamente desconexa com as discussões da cúpula”, observou. Segundo Roedel, a diferença de enfoque revela uma política externa brasileira pouco alinhada às preocupações que hoje orientam as grandes potências.
A diferença de tom chamou atenção porque ocorreu em uma cúpula marcada pelo esforço de diversos líderes para preservar a cooperação com Washington sob o comando de Trump.
A analista política Yolanda Tolentino, especialista em cenário nacional e relações internacionais, também avalia que Lula efetivamente falou em direção oposta ao ambiente predominante da cúpula, marcado por esforços de acomodação à nova administração americana.
"O G7 de 2026 girou em torno da acomodação a Washington, com tentativas de exceção tarifária, alinhamento automático em segurança e ajuste à lógica transacional da Casa Branca por parte da maioria dos líderes presentes. Lula discursou na contramão disso", afirma.
Em seu discurso, Lula também cobrou maior financiamento climático e voltou a defender mudanças em organismos multilaterais. Essas pautas vêm perdendo força na agenda mundial desde que a Rússia invadiu a Ucrânia e Trump assumiu a presidência dos EUA.
O contraste ficou visível também nos momentos protocolares da cúpula. "A perspectiva do presidente brasileiro calcada em elementos desenvolvimentistas de assistência ou segurança social divergiu do tom do evento. O isolamento do presidente também ficou patente em coisas muito evidentes como o fato de o presidente americano não ter falado com ele. A própria posição em que Lula ficou na foto oficial, escanteado literalmente", observou o doutor em Ciência Política pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) Elton Gomes.
O governo brasileiro rejeitou documentos discutidos durante a cúpula por considerar que o conteúdo refletia posições favoráveis à administração Trump, ampliando o contraste entre Brasília e os demais participantes do encontro.
Além disso, durante a foto oficial do encontro, Lula e Trump evitaram cumprimentos públicos, em meio às tensões acumuladas desde o retorno do republicano à Casa Branca. Ambos também deixam a França sem uma reunião formal para tratar sobre a ameaça de um novo tarifaço e a classificação de PCC e Comando Vermelho como organizações terroristas.
