Președintele Partidului Popularilor Europeni (PPE), Manfred Weber, a anunțat că a avut o discuție telefonică cu premierul interimar Ilie Bolojan, despre situația politică din România.

„Mi-am început ziua cu o discuție telefonică excelentă cu prim-ministrul României, Ilie Bolojan. I-am mulțumit încă o dată pentru politicile clare pe care le pune în aplicare în cadrul Guvernului și am discutat despre situația politică din România”, a precizat Manfred Weber într-o postare pe Facebook.
Liderul PPE a subliniat că România trebuie să-și continue drumul spre reforme și modernizare.
„Aceasta este așteptarea cetățenilor, aceasta este ceea ce va face România mai puternică în viitor și aceasta este angajamentul pe care Ilie Bolojan și Partidul Național Liberal și-au asumat să-l îndeplinească” , a scris acesta.
„În calitate de membri ai PPE, acțiunile noastre politice sunt întotdeauna ghidate de principii clare, de respectul față de reguli și de valorile noastre europene. I-am transmis cele mai bune urări pentru Congresul PNL de duminică”, se mai arată în mesaj.
PNL este membru PPE, la fel ca și UDMR.
Premierul interimar Ilie Bolojan a anunțat convocarea unui Congres Extraordinar al PNL pe data de 21 iunie, o decizie pe care o consideră necesară pentru stabilitatea partidului.
„Partidul Național Liberal are nevoie de claritate, de decizii asumate și de o direcție confirmată fără echivoc. De aceea, am propus astăzi organizarea Congresului Extraordinar al PNL pe 21 iunie.Nu ni l-am dorit, dar situația o impune?”, a scris Ilie Bolojan, miercuri seară, într-o postare pe Facebook.
