Dinu Zamfirescu nu vorbește despre PNL ca un membru de partid care comentează o dispută politică de moment. A crescut în casa familiei Brătianu (creatoarea Partidului Liberal), după ce mama sa s-a recăsătorit cu Dan Brătianu, fiul fostului președinte PNL, Dinu Brătianu. S-a înscris în tineretul liberal în 1945, la 16 ani, când România era încă monarhie, iar comunismul abia se instaura. A fost arestat, a trecut prin închisorile comuniste, a trăit în exil și s-a întors după 1989 ca să participe la reconstrucția partidului pe care regimul comunist îl scosese din viața politică. În curând va împlini în curând 97 de ani, iar răspunsurile lui despre PNL-ul de astăzi vin după o viață întreagă petrecută în jurul acestui partid.
De la această distanță, dar și de la această apropiere biografică, analiza lui despre PNL-ul de azi nu e doar despre Adrian Veștea, Ilie Bolojan sau Nicușor Dan. E despre un partid în care, spune Zamfirescu, au intrat oameni pe care nu i-a mai întrebat nimeni ce caută acolo şi de ce se numesc liberali.

„Sunt oameni care nu cunosc mersul politicii, indiferent de funcţia pe care o au”

Când vedeți PNL-ul de astăzi, ce mai recunoașteți din acel spirit?
Dinu Zamfirescu: La 16 ani (în 1945, n.r.) m-am înscris în tineretul liberal şi, de atunci, am rămas mereu în partid. Nu am o părere foarte bună despre ce se întâmplă cu partidul acum, îmi lasă impresia că e fără direcţie.
Dar cred că şi partidul este supus unor presiuni din alte părţi – şi aici mă refer la actuala preşedinţie. Nu ştiu în ce măsură a procedat corect cu desemnarea diverşilor candidaţi pentru funcţia de prim-ministru. Cred nu aşa trebuia procedat. În primul rând, conducerea partidului trebuia anunţată înainte de desemnarea respectivilor, e o cutumă. În plus, preşedintele PNL are de dat multe sfaturi – are o experienţă administrativă şi politică deosebită. Eu știu foarte bine treaba asta. Dar probabil că actualul preşedinte nu ştie.
Nu știu ce cunoștințe teoretice are Nicușor Dan, dar pe cele practice nu le are
– Credeţi mai degrabă că preşedintele Nicuşor Dan a avut o intervenţie periculoasă în viaţa partidului, nu că a venit cu o soluţie de criză?
– E o intervenţie irevenţioasă. Pentru că trebuie să te adresezi unui partid măcar cu respect instituţional. Or, cred că nu s-a procedat în felul ăsta de către actualul preşedinte. Poate pentru că n-a ştiut, nefiind obişnuit cu procedee de genul ăsta. Ştiţi, sunt oameni care nu cunosc mersul politicii, indiferent de funcţia pe care o au. Poate că actualul preşedinte e mult prea tânăr. Nu ştiu ce cunoştinţe teoretice are, dar văd că nu le are pe cele practice.
– Dar există şi liberali care sunt de acord cu preşedintele…
– Caută şi ei să mai profite de ocazie. Dar cred că acţionează mai degrabă dintr-un interes personal, se gândesc la situaţia de care ar profita ei mai mult. Eu nu cunosc alte interese.
Despre Adrian Veştea: „Nu ştiu ce fel de liberalism gândeşte dânsul”
– Dumneavoastră ați văzut cum, după Revoluţie, partidul a trecut prin mai multe rupturi, fuziuni, compromisuri. Ce vedem acum e o criză trecătoare sau e o ruptură de identitate?
– Nu știu dacă este chiar atât de acută această situație, dar sigur că trebuie luat în calcul şi riscul unei astfel de rupturi de identitate. Totuşi, cred că partidul este cât de cât stabilizat acum. Dar procedurile care se fac în ceea ce-l privește nu sunt chiar cele mai corecte.
– Spuneţi că partidul este mai degrabă stabilizat. Dar, dacă Adrian Veştea va reuşi să treacă guvernul, împotriva voinţei conducerii de partid, mai putem vorbi despre un singur PNL?
– Nu ştiu. Să vedem cum se manifestă. Eu nu sunt sigur că este cea mai indicată persoană să fie prim-ministru. Nu are suficientă experienţă politică. N-am avut onoarea să-l cunosc, dar îl pot evalua după manifestările exterioare. Şi nu ştiu ce fel de liberalism gândeşte dânsul.
