Parachute jumper in trouble Rescue operation

A skydiver got stuck landing on an island due to wind conditions and had to be rescued by emergency services. The diver was blown off course by crosswinds and landed on Piiparinsaari Island in Imatra, deviating from their planned landing spot. Emergency services received the alert at around 11 AM on Midsummer Eve and conducted a rescue operation using a boat to bring the skydiver back to the mainland. No injuries were reported.

Laskuvarjohyppääjä joutui tuuliolosuhteiden vuoksi laskeutumaan poikkeukselliseen paikkaan, kertoo Etelä-Karjalan pelastuslaitos tiedotteessa.

Pelastuslaitoksen mukaan sivutuuli painoi hyppääjän varjoa niin, että hän joutui laskeutumaan Imatran Piiparinsaarelle suunnitelmastaan poiketen. Pelastuslaitos sai pulaan joutuneesta hyppääjästä ilmoituksen juhannusaattona yhdentoista aikaan aamupäivällä.

Pelastuslaitos haki laskuvarjohyppääjän veneellä saaresta ja vei hänet mantereen puolelle. Tilanteesta ei aiheutunut henkilövahinkoja.
