They evacuate entire building in downtown Santiago by fire that affects department

Comentarios Voluntarios de máquinas de 14 compañía del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago llegaron hasta la Alameda Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins, a la altura del 3100 casi esquina de calle Chacabuco, para controlar un incendio estructural que afectó a cinco locales comerciales .

Aunque se desconoce el origen del fuego, este habría iniciado en un mall de artículos chinos, alcanzando un local de PreUnic y dependencias del Hotel Alameda.

El comandante Sergio Yévenes detalló que las llamas fueron controladas después de un par de horas de combate: “No reportamos hasta el momento ni bomberos lesionados ni tampoco tenemos civiles con alguna dificultad. Estamos trabajando ya de manera ofensiva en rematar algunos puntos de fuego que se encuentran en el interior”, señaló en el lugar.

Diego Martin/Aton Chile Una de las medidas que se tomaron fue evacuar el Hotel Alameda , que se encuentra a pocos metros de los locales donde las llamas se iniciaron.

Desde Transporte Informa señalaron que el tránsito en la Alameda, al poniente, fue desviado en avenida Brasil, avenida Ricardo Cumming y Maipú. En ese sentido, recalcaron a los transeúntes que no debían acercarse al sector del siniestro “por posibilidad de derrumbe”.

Ahora voluntarios trabajan en la remoción de escombro, analizando la posibilidad de derrumbe de la estructura afectada.
