Instead, it has exposed deeper uncertainty about the club’s long-term football planning at Naturena.
While Nasreddine Nabi’s name continues to dominate conversations around structural influence, the most recent measurable progress came under Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, who led the team to a CAF qualification spot before both were dismissed at the end of the season.
That achievement stands as a completed chapter rather than an ongoing system — a short-term intervention that delivered results before the club opted for another reset.
Their departure, however, fits into a wider pattern at Chiefs: short coaching cycles followed by structural reshuffles rather than gradual development.
Now the club moves again in a different direction.
The appointment of Da Cruz, alongside incoming foreign technical staff Mahmoud Abbas as assistant coach and Julien Le Heran as strength and conditioning specialist, signals yet another rebuild of the technical environment.
Rumours also suggest Dillon Sheperd is set to join as a second assistant coach, bringing valuable local insight to complement the foreign expertise being assembled.
