I-P: Something happened in Jalasjärvi that doesn't happen even once a year

– Mietin hetken, että voiko niinkin käydä. Ihan hauskaa, että saivat omat päivänsä. Ei ainakaan jää epäselväksi, kumpi on isosisko ja kumpi pikkusisko, äiti kertoo Ilkka-Pohjalaiselle.

Siskoset eivät ole identtisiä.

Kaksosten syntyminen eri päivinä on harvinaista, mutta ei ennenkuulumatonta. Näin sanoo naistentautien ja synnytysten palveluyksikön osastonhoitaja Mari Vuorenmäki Etelä-Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialueelta Ilkka-Pohjalaiselle.

– Ei voi sanoa, että vuosittain tai edes muutaman vuoden välein meillä olisi. Tilanne on kuitenkin täysin mahdollinen, sillä kaksoset voivat syntyä parinkin tunnin ikäerolla.

Ilkka-Pohjalainen kertoi vastaavasta tapauksesta huhtikuussa 2024. Tuolloin isojokelaisperheen kaksostytöt syntyivät eri päivinä.
