Președintele ucrainean Volodimir Zelenski i-a cerut marți, din nou, omologului său american, Donald Trump, licența pentru ca Ucraina să producă pe plan intern sisteme antiaeriene americane Patriot și rachete interceptoare pentru acestea, informează agenția spaniolă de presă EFE.
„Am discutat despre aceasta cu președintele Trump, iar echipele noastre vor lucra astfel încât, dacă vrea Dumnezeu de data aceasta, să obținem licența pentru a produce sistemele și rachetele antibalistice”, a spus Zelenski, într-un mesaj audio trimis pe WhatsApp unui grup de jurnaliști care acoperă participarea liderului ucrainean la summitul G7 ce se desfășoară în Franța.
Zelenski i-a mai cerut anterior omologului său american licența pentru ca Ucraina să producă baterii Patriot, dar nu a primit răspunsul dorit, notează Agerpres.
Deocamdată, o prioritate a Ucrainei, pentru a se proteja în fața salvelor de rachete și drone rusești, este să obțină sisteme Patriot suplimentare și mai multe rachete interceptoare PAC-3 pentru aceste sisteme de la susținătorii săi internaționali, precum și fonduri necesare achiziționării acestora din SUA.
