Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has once again requested US President Donald Trump's approval for Ukraine to manufacture American Patriot air defense systems and their interceptor missiles domestically. Președintele ucrainean Volodimir Zelenski i-a cerut marți, din nou, omologului său american, Donald Trump, licența pentru ca Ucraina să producă pe plan intern sisteme antiaeriene americane Patriot și rachete interceptoare pentru acestea, informează agenția spaniolă de presă EFE.

„Am discutat despre aceasta cu președintele Trump, iar echipele noastre vor lucra astfel încât, dacă vrea Dumnezeu de data aceasta, să obținem licența pentru a produce sistemele și rachetele antibalistice”, a spus Zelenski, într-un mesaj audio trimis pe WhatsApp unui grup de jurnaliști care acoperă participarea liderului ucrainean la summitul G7 ce se desfășoară în Franța.

Zelenski i-a mai cerut anterior omologului său american licența pentru ca Ucraina să producă baterii Patriot, dar nu a primit răspunsul dorit, notează Agerpres.

Deocamdată, o prioritate a Ucrainei, pentru a se proteja în fața salvelor de rachete și drone rusești, este să obțină sisteme Patriot suplimentare și mai multe rachete interceptoare PAC-3 pentru aceste sisteme de la susținătorii săi internaționali, precum și fonduri necesare achiziționării acestora din SUA.

În urmă cu două săptămâni, liderul de la Kiev a declarat că unele dintre țările aflate înaintea Ucrainei pe lista de așteptare pentru cumpărarea unor sisteme Patriot i-au cedat locul țării sale, dar Kievul are nevoie de bani pentru a le obține.

„Se poate sări peste rând dacă este plătit contractul. Așadar, trebuie să facem tot posibilul pentru a-l plăti. Altfel, sistemele și rachetele vor sosi abia în 2030”, a explicat Zelenski.
