A 40-year-old woman was injured after a gas cylinder exploded at an independent house in Alkapur Township in Narsingi on Friday, police said.
The incident was reported on the third floor of a house on Road No. 9, where the woman, identified as Geetha, was present at the time of the blast.
According to the police, an HP gas cylinder kept on the balcony exploded suddenly, damaging a portion of the balcony wall. Debris from the damaged structure fell on Geetha’s legs, leaving her injured.
She was immediately shifted to a private hospital for treatment. Doctors informed police that her condition is stable.
On receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Narsingi police and the Fire Department rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Police said no other injuries were reported in the explosion.
Officials have launched an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the blast. Further details are awaited.
