Works in the centre of Halen are once again shut down by wrong concrete

Construction work in the center of Halen has been halted again due to incorrect concrete composition. The project, which aims to make the city center traffic-free and green, began in August of last year. Recently, delays occurred because the contractor was involved in an acquisition. Now, new delays have arisen after it was discovered that the wrong type of cement was used in the concrete. The faulty concrete has already been removed, and the supplier is investigating what went wrong.

De werken in het centrum van Halen liggen stil. Dat komt door een fout in de samenstelling van het beton. Na een onderzoek bleek dat bij de samenstelling van het beton niet het juiste cement is gebruikt. Intussen is het slechte beton weer afgebroken.

De werken zijn in augustus vorig jaar gestart. Sindsdien ligt het centrum van Halen er opengebroken bij. Vorige maand liepen de werken ook al vertraging op, omdat de aannemer toen in een overname verwikkeld zat.

Nu is er dus opnieuw vertraging. Het beton werd maandag gegoten, maar al snel merkte men dat er iets mis was en werden de werken stilgelegd. Nu blijkt dat bij de samenstelling het verkeerde cement is gebruikt.

Intussen is het verkeerde beton weer afgebroken. De leverancier gaat nu onderzoeken wat er fout liep. Tot dan blijven de werken stilliggen.
