Bratislava Zváračák will become a new city district, the developer wants to build in two years

The former research institute known as Zváračák in Bratislava is set to be transformed into a new urban district. The development plans include preserving parts of the historical building while constructing new residential areas. The first phase of construction is expected to begin in 2028, with the entire project potentially taking over ten years to complete.

Začiatok výstavby prvej etapy sa predpokladá v roku 2028. Vzhľadom na rozsah projektu by sa celá premena územia mohla realizovať postupne počas viac ako desiatich rokov.

Na Račianskej ulici v Bratislave neďaleko električkovej trate či budovy ministerstva obrany známej ako Kukurica sa nachádza areál niekdajšieho Výskumného ústavu zváračského. Do jeho priestorov sa v roku 2020 presťahovalo ministerstvo spravodlivosti. Za ním stoja staré výrobné haly a ďalšie budovy.

Areál prezývaný Zváračák, ktorý desaťročia slúžil výskumu, vývoju a vzdelávaniu v oblasti zvárania, patrí medzi posledné väčšie nevyužívané priemyselné areály v širšom centre Bratislavy. V najbližších rokoch sa to má zmeniť. Jeho vlastník, spoločnosť Račianska – Reality, predstavil finálnu podobu projektu, ktorý má približne šesťhektárový areál premeniť na novú mestskú štvrť.
