Thuli Phongolo sets the record straight after Prince Kaybee fans the romance flames

Thuli Phongolo, a media personality, publicly denied rumors of a past romantic relationship with Prince Kaybee and businessman Edwin Sodi after a social media post by user Chris Excell suggested such a connection. Phongolo took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to address Kaybee directly, expressing frustration over what she described as a false narrative being perpetuated. She emphasized that she has never been involved with either man and criticized Kaybee for contributing to the spread of the rumor.

Media personality Thuli Phongolo has spoken out after Prince Kaybee appeared to entertain rumours linking the two romantically.

The actress and DJ found herself trending after an X post by internet troll Chris Excell went viral, suggesting she had previously been involved with both Kaybee and businessman Edwin Sodi.

While many social media users brushed the post off as gossip, Phongolo was not impressed with how the situation unfolded.

See the post below:

Taking to X, she directly addressed Kaybee and denied ever having a romantic relationship with either man.

“Uhm, since when? If you’re going to entertain it, you might as well clear it with the TRUTH. I’ve never slept with you or Edwin, for that matter! This whole narrative of trying to paint me as loose is tired, I don’t play with my pussy, please! 🤚,” she wrote.

Phongolo later expanded on her frustration through a series of Instagram stories, where she accused Kaybee of helping fuel a narrative that she says is completely false.

“Today I woke up VERY Xhosa and petty ke sana! It’s one thing for Chris going off on this narrative, but entertaining it as though it’s true, knowing it’s NOT and feeding into this disgusting circus is where I draw the line!”

She continued: “SANA, mna… I DON’T PLAY WITH NUNA… if you know me personally, YOU KNOW! I can stand on mountains and beat my chest on that!”

Addressing Kaybee directly, Phongolo tagged the artist and insisted that the pair barely know each other.

“@princekaybee_sa - I’ve literally only met you once at the gym this year, even on a HI & BYE basis! You know what you did with that response, it’s intentional… stop it!”

The former “Generations: The Legacy” actress also used the opportunity to set the record straight about her dating history, revealing that she has only been romantically involved with a handful of men throughout her life.

“Mind you, I can count the people I’ve dated on ONE HAND, so to be affiliated with the WORLD when in reality I take PRIDE in taking care of myself and my integrity is aggravating,” she wrote.

Phongolo explained that although she usually chooses not to respond to rumours, she felt compelled to address this one because repeated narratives can shape how people perceive her.

“I keep quiet because I know it’s never really worth it to address it, but the narrative STICKS, and people start receiving you as a person you’re not. And men feed into these stories because it SERVES them!”

Her comments led to a debate online, with some social media users applauding her for speaking up, while others criticised Kaybee and argued that he should have immediately shut down the rumours instead of engaging with them.

Responding to some of the criticism, the musician defended himself and appeared frustrated by the backlash.

“Clear what rumour? I’ve never started a rumour, all that energy should’ve been directed to Maphorisa when he was allegedly abusing her,” he wrote, referring to Phongolo’s previous relationship with DJ Maphorisa .

“Y'all think just because I’m laughing here with y'all I am some punching bag,” he added.
