Lögreglumaður á vettvangi sem kom að Ming Ting Mancel, sem er ákærð fyrir að hafa banað dóttur sinni í samverknaði við eiginmann sinn, eftir að verknaðurinn er sagður hafa átt sér stað segir að Mancel hafi orðið fyrir miklum vonbrigðum þegar hún komst að því hve nálægt hún hafi verið að ná að stinga sig sjálfa í hjartað.
Þetta kom fram í aðalmeðferð málsins fyrir héraðsdómi í dag þar sem lögreglumaðurinn bar vitni í gegnum fjarfundarbúnað.
Hann lýsti því að hafa haldið ásamt samstarfsmanni sínum í óljóst útkall á Reykjavík Edition-hótelið í miðbæ Reykjavíkur að morgni 14. júní 2025 en á leið þangað kom í ljós að um hnífstungu hafi verið að ræða.
Þegar á hótelið var komið vísaði starfsmaður lögreglumönnum á herbergið þar sem dóttir og eiginmaður Ming létu lífið.
Stungan nálægt hjartastað
Þegar þangað var komið segir lögreglumaðurinn að Ming hafi sagt á bjagaðri ensku að hún hafi drepið tvo. Undir laki lá maður sem var að sögn lögreglumannsins orðinn fölur og kaldur.
Þegar liðsauki mætti á svæðið fylgdi lögreglumaðurinn Ming í sjúkrabíl þar sem hann segir að hún hafi ætlað að taka eigið líf með því að stinga sig í hjartastað.
Í skýrslutöku yfir sakborningnum á föstudag hélt hún því fram að fjölskyldan hefði öll ætlað að taka líf sitt á hótelherberginu en sömuleiðis hefur komið fram að hún hafi verið með lífshættuleg stungusár þegar viðbragðsaðilar komu á vettvang. Var hún færð á sjúkrahús þar sem hún undirgekkst röntgenmyndatöku.
Lögreglumaðurinn fylgdi Ming við komuna á spítalann og segir að að myndatöku lokinni hafi hún fengið að vita að það hafi munað mjög litlu að stungan hafi ratað í hjartastað hennar og að hún hafi orðið fyrir „mjög miklum vonbrigðum“ þegar það kom í ljós.
Þegar verjandi Ming spurði lögreglumanninn hvort lögreglumaðurinn hefði á einhverjum tímapunkti heyrt Ming tala um að hún hefði varið sig gegn árás svaraði lögreglumaðurinn því neitandi.
