The National Service of Prevention and Response to Disasters (Senapred) has maintained a green technical alert for the Nevados de Chillán Volcanic Complex after it showed activity for the first time in three years. According to the Southern Andean Volcano Observatory (OVDAS) of the National Geological and Mining Service (Sernageomin), two plumes of volcanic material were recorded at heights of 120 meters and 80 meters respectively, both heading southeast from the volcano. Sernageomin continues with permanent monitoring of the volcano.
