Moto3 Race Victory Overshadowed by Serious Final Lap Crash at Balaton Park

A Moto3 race at Balaton Park was won by Maximo Quiles, but the victory was overshadowed by a serious crash on the final lap that brought out the red flag. In the fight for third place, David Munoz, Brian Uriarte and Valentin Perrone crashed; race officials reported all riders were conscious.

Medtem ko sta vodilna Maximo Quiles in David Almansa v ospredju dirkala vsak v svojem svetu in že skoraj ugledala ciljno črto, se je za njima med Alvarom Carpejem , Davidom Munozem , Ricom Salmelo , Valentinom Perronejem in Brianom Uriartejem odvijal napet boj za najnižjo stopničko.

Ogorčen obračun pa se ni razpletel najbolje. Munoz je zadel v zadek Carpeja in sredi steze pristal na tleh. Če je Salmela lahko zapeljal mimo Španca, pa se mu Uriarte in Perrone, ki sta dirkala tik za njim, nista mogla izogniti in grdo zadela vanj. Dirka je bila tako v zadnjem krogu prekinjena z rdečo zastavo. Vodstvo dirke je gledalce hitro pomirilo s sporočilom, da so vsi trije udeleženi dirkači pri zavesti.

Poleg zmagovalca Quilesa in Almanse je na zmagovalni oder stopil še Carpe.

Tudi na dirki razreda moto2 ni šlo povsem brez drame, v četrtem krogu sta grdo zadela Daniel Munoz in Ivan Ortola .
