Cerca 140 concelhos de doze distritos de Portugal continental apresentam hoje perigo máximo de incêndio rural, segundo o Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA).
Os concelhos que estão em perigo máximo pertencem aos distritos de Vila Real, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Leiria, Santarém, Lisboa, Portalegre, Setúbal, Évora, Beja e Faro.
Vários concelhos dos distritos de Viana do Castelo, Braga, Bragança, Vila Real, Aveiro, Guarda, Viseu, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Setúbal, Lisboa, Beja e Faro apresentam hoje perigo muito elevado e elevado de incêndio.
O perigo de incêndio rural vai manter-se máximo e muito elevado pelo menos até domingo devido ao tempo quente.
Este perigo, determinado pelo IPMA, tem cinco níveis, que vão de reduzido a máximo. Os cálculos são obtidos a partir da temperatura do ar, humidade relativa, velocidade do vento e quantidade de precipitação nas 24 horas anteriores.
Devido ao tempo quente, a Autoridade Nacional de Emergência e Proteção Civil (ANEPC) alertou para o perigo de incêndio rural "muito elevado a máximo" na generalidade do território nos próximos dias, recomendando à população medidas preventivas.
Em comunicado, a ANEPC refere que o agravamento das condições meteorológicas tem como efeitos expectáveis o agravamento do perigo de incêndio, com condições favoráveis à eventual ocorrência e propagação de incêndios rurais, bem como o aumento da dificuldade das ações de supressão, em especial nas regiões do interior Norte, Centro e Algarve.
Como medidas preventivas, recorda que é proibido fazer queimada extensiva, queima de amontoados, usar fogo para cozinhar alimentos em espaço rural, exceto se for fora das zonas críticas e em locais autorizados, usar motorroçadoras, corta-matos e destroçadores, e evitar o uso de grades de discos.
Para proteger a ameaça do calor, a ANEPC recomenda especial atenção com doentes crónicos, crianças e idosos e reforça a importância de beber mais água, pelo menos oito copos por dia (1,5 litros), aplicar a cada duas horas protetor solar com fator superior a 30, usar chapéu e roupas claras, largas e frescas, e optar por refeições leves.
Portugal continental regista temperaturas elevadas com valores da temperatura máxima a variar entre os 23 graus Celsius em Sagres e os 37 graus em Évora.
O IPMA prevê para hoje céu pouco nublado, com aumento de nebulosidade no interior Norte e Centro durante a tarde, com condições favoráveis à ocorrência de aguaceiros e trovoada.
Prevê ainda uma pequena descida da temperaturamáxima na região Sul e no litoral Norte e Centro.
