Košarkarji Dubaja so prvič postali prvaki Lige ABA. Na četrti tekmi finalne serije proti Partizanu so v Beogradu zmagali s 83:81 in serijo dobili s 3:1 v zmagah.

Aleksa Avramović je za Dubaj dosegel 15 točk, vključno z odločilnima prostima metoma 15 sekund pred koncem. Partizan bi lahko z napadom še izsilil podaljšek ali s trojko celo zmago, vendar je Jones zgrešil met za dve točki in slavje Dubaja se je začelo.

Trener Aleksander Sekulić, tudi selektor Slovenije, je navdušeno pritekel na igrišče in naredil "častni krog". Lovorike se veseli tudi Klemen Prepelič, ki je na zadnji tekmi igral 18 minut, vendar se ni vpisal med strelce.
Četrta tekma je bila zelo izenačena, v drugem polčasu je imel večinoma rahlo prednost Dubaj. Sredi predzadnje minute je Sterling Brown s trojko z levega kota izenačil na 79 in napovedal razburljiv finiš tekme. 37 sekund pred koncem je bilo 81:81, odločilna pa sta bila uspešna prosta meta Avramovića, nekdanjega igralca Partizana.

Najučinkovitejša pri Partizanu sta bila Isaac Bonga in Sterling Brown s po 16 točkami. Pri Dubaju pa sta najbolj strelsko izstopala Avramović (15 točk) ter Mfiondu Tshimanga Kabengele s 14 točkami.
Na poti do prvega finala že v svoji drugi sezoni v Ligi ABA so košarkarji Dubaja v polfinalu izločili črnogorsko Budućnost z 2:1 v zmagah. Branilec naslova Partizan pa je v mestnem derbiju Crveno zvezdo prepričljivo izločil z 2:0 v zmagah.
