A kongresszus kezdete előtt Magyar Péter rendkívüli sajtótájékoztatót tartott, ahol azt mondta, hogy az Orbán-kormány hazudott a Vitnyédre tervezett menekülttáborról.

Megválasztották Orbán Viktort, továbbra is ő a Fidesz-elnöke.
Szintén megválasztották a Fidesz négy alelnökét: Gál Kinga, Bóka János, Gyopáros Alpár, Kreicsi Balázs.
Elfogadták a Fidesz új, módosított alapszabályzatát.
A kongresszus elején Orbán Viktor beszédet mondott, ebben említette, hogy a választási vereségért övé a stratégiai felelősség.
Beszélt arról, hogy másfajta politizálásra van szükség ellenzékben, a Fidesz pedig még nem áll készen erre a szerepre. Elmondta, hogy a pártnak készen kell állnia „mire a falevelek lehullanak”.
Az ország szerinte most Magyar Péter kezében „a Varga Judit”.
Néhány felszólaló (Hidvéghi Balázs, Stumpf István, Gyurákovics Andrea) kritikus hangokat pendített meg a felszólalásaiban „kullancsokról”, a dölyfös kommunikációról, különböző anyagi túlkapásokról.
Visszatérő téma volt a felszólalóknál a jövőre nézve a helyi közösségek építése, a fiatalítás, az egymásnak nyújtott segítség fontossága, az online tér szerepe, illetve a Tisza kritikája.
Gyakran szóba kerültek a Fidesz-kampány elemei: a migráció, Brüsszel, a Tisza arroganciája, a genderpropaganda, illetve az is, hogy Magyar Péter régebben még a Fidesz támogatója volt.
Ezek reflexió nélkül maradtak Orbán záróbeszédében, ahol többek között a rendszerbontó koncertre utalva elmondta, hogy nem fog „herebere partikra” járni. „Nem árulok és nem vesztek velem zsákbamacskát. Tudjátok, hogy semmi kedvem megváltozni” – mondta a Fidesz megválasztott elnöke.
A Fidesz kampánydalának house-osított változatára a megyei vezetők és a felszólalók felmentek a színpadra, kezet fogtak Orbán Viktorral, majd az esemény véget ért.
Becsületbeli ügynek tartotta, hogy a vereség után lemondjon, de ne álljon félre. Úgy akarja átadni a Fideszt a fiataloknak, hogy az egy győzelemre esélyes párt legyen. „Nem árulok és nem vesztek velem zsákbamacskát. Tudjátok, hogy semmi kedvem megváltozni. Nem teszek fél és teljes fordulatokat, nem fogok herebere partikra járni” – mondta. Se a pénz, se a nemzetközi elismerés nem csábítja, csak a hazáját akarja szolgálni. Nincs vagyona, viszont van egy jó életrajza, mondta beszédének végén a volt miniszterelnök. Ezután a színpadra felmentek az új országos elnökség tagjai, hogy összeálljanak Orbánnal egy csoportképre.

Orbán a szavazás utáni beszédét azzal kezdte, hogy megköszönte a bizalmat. Elmondta, hogy a Fideszre és a KDNP-re is úgy gondolt, akik készek évtizedet áldozni arra, hogy megteremtsék a szuverén Magyarországot.
Orbán szerint 22 évig vártak arra és dolgoztak azért, hogy a „történelem ura” megadja a kormányzati hatalmat, amivel a szuverenitást is meg lehet szerezni „rajongva szeretett hazánknak”.
2010-ben eljött az ő idejük. Úgy érezte, hogy ez Magyarország utolsó esélye, mielőtt „elnyelné a nyugati globalista liberális világ feneketlen bendője”. Úgy gondolta, húsz évre lesz szükség. „Nem láttam előre mindent” – mondta, hozzátéve, hogy jött a Covid, a háború, a migránsok is.
Orbán elmondta, hogy ismeri az ellenfeleket, tudja, hogy mi vár Magyarországra: „jönnek az idegenek, és kizsebelik Magyarországot”.
Ismertették a szavazások eredményét. A küldöttek újra Orbán Viktort választották meg pártelnöknek, és megszavazták a négy alelnökjelöltet is. Orbánra 729-en szavaztak, nyolcan nem voksoltak. Gál Kinga 701 szavattal, Bóka János 711 szavazattal, Gyopáros Alpár 717 szavazattal, Kreicsi Bálint pedig 701 szavazattal lett alelnök. Gál Kingát újraválasztották, mivel korábban is alelnök volt Kubatov Gábor, Kósa Lajos és Németh Szilárd mellett.

Gulyás felhozta, hogy a Tisza-kormány nem hajlandó egyenesen kimondani, hogy „nem fogja végrehajtani a migrációs paktumot”, mert végre fogja hajtani. A frakcióvezető megint emlegette a köztársasági elnök esetét, az országnak nemet kell mondani arra, hogy őt eltávolítsák. Ez után elmondta, hogy a Fidesz olyan jól kormányzott, hogy akkor még a új miniszterelnök is nagy támogatója volt a pártnak.
