Sometime earlier in the evening, strong weather accompanied by hail and gusty winds, for which the MUP issued an emergency warning, affected the north of Bačka and caused great damage to agricultural crops.
Large towns were recorded in Tavankut, Bajmok, Mišićevo, as well as in the area around Bačka Topole.
Upper and Lower Tavankut, as well as the area from Little Bosnia to Chikeria, were hardest hit.
Also, the wind brought down a traffic light on the Tsar Lazar Boulevard in Novi Sad.

The Storm Came From Hungary
In the late afternoon and evening, unstable weather with showers and thunderstorms will cover most of northern and northwestern Serbia, especially Vojvodina, Podrinje and Mačva.
In these areas, severe thunderstorms are expected, with the possibility of thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind. Locally, in a very short period of time, more than 20 liters of rain can fall per square meter.
In the north of Bačka, during the night between Sunday and Monday, as well as on Monday morning, abundant precipitation is forecast, with the amount of rainfall reaching more than 50 liters per square meter.
RHMZ sent out a warning
The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) started at 16 hours the procedure for the transmission of SMS emergency information to citizens due to thunderstorms that are expected in parts of the territory of Serbia until the end of the day.
"Be alert and follow the information of the competent authorities", states the RHMZ website, and as readers report, "thunderstorm warnings have already begun to arrive as SMS messages".
The showers and thunderstorms that are expected tonight in certain parts of Belgrade may become more intense in the short term, with city and storm winds.
The orange meteo-alarm, which indicates dangerous weather, is in effect in Belgrade, Sremsko, Banat, and Bačka.
