Bij een woning in Breda heeft vanmorgen een explosie plaatsgevonden. Daardoor ontstond brand in de voortuin en raakte een deel van het huis beschadigd. De bewoners waren thuis, maar raakten niet gewond.
De ontploffing was rond 05.30 uur aan de Wilgenbroek. Door de explosie ontstond schade aan de gevel, de voordeur, fietsen, een auto en de gang van de woning, schrijft Omroep Brabant (opent in nieuw venster) . Vanwege de rook die vrijkwam, zijn de bewoners uit voorzorg naar het ziekenhuis gebracht.
Volgens de regionale omroep woont in het huis een jong gezin met twee kleine kinderen. De moeder zou zwanger zijn.
Door het vuur kon het gezin niet via de voordeur naar buiten, vertelt een buurman die hen heeft geholpen het huis uit te komen. "We moesten vluchten via de achterkant", zegt hij. Door de klap van de explosie zijn ook bij andere huizen in de straat ramen gesneuveld.
Buurtonderzoek
De politie gaat uit van brandstichting. Opvallend is dat het afgelopen week in dezelfde straat ook al raak was.
Donderdagnacht ging een explosief af bij buren. Bij de brand die toen ontstond raakte de voorgevel van het buurhuis beschadigd. Ook toen waren de bewoners thuis, zij raakten niet gewond.
"We houden er rekening mee dat de twee explosies verband hebben met elkaar", laat een woordvoerder van de politie weten. "Maar wat dat verband is, onderzoeken we nog."
Agenten praten daarvoor met getuigen en bekijken camerabeelden van buurtbewoners. "We praten ook met de bewoners zelf, misschien dat zij meer informatie hebben." Er is nog geen dader in beeld.
