Ana Roš received three Michelin stars from the House of Franco.

This year, for the first time, the guide awarded a special prize for the opening of the year to the Francl Inn in Celje, run by Sebastijan Kovačič.

The Sommelier Award went to Nejc Farčnik, who works in the restaurant Grič, and the Service Award went to Petr Patajc from the Ruj Inn.

This year, 12 Slovenian restaurants, two new ones, were included in the Bib Gourmand selection. This is a label awarded by Michelin to restaurants with an exceptional ratio between price and quality.

A total of 74 restaurants are listed in the guide. Selected are 52 restaurants, of which six are new. New in this selection are the restaurants Bistro 9:45 (Bovec), Bistro Štorja (Postojna), Gostilnica Barba (Novo mesto), Hiša Polonka (Kobarid), Restauracija Mangrt (Bovec) and Srebrna vilica (Piran).

The Michelin awards strengthen the international reputation of Slovenia as a top gastronomic destination, promote the quality of the industry and contribute to the development of sustainable tourism and higher added value, the Slovenian Tourism Organization (STO) stressed.

"Thanks to top-class and creative chefs and their playful professional teams, whose restaurants and inns are ranked in the world-renowned Michelin gastronomic guide, Slovenia is today a recognizable and established gastronomic destination", said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Labour and Sport Anže Logar, announcing the new Michelin nominees.

Two stars were awarded to Milka Restaurant.

Milka's restaurant has two stars.

"The ranking of 74 restaurants from different parts of the country shows that excellent gastronomy is becoming an increasingly important part of Slovenia's quality tourism offer and one of the key levers for the development of tourism with higher added value. Cooperation with Michelin contributes to the international visibility of Slovenia, raising the quality of the offer and strengthening the reputation of Slovenian chefs and restaurants. We are particularly pleased that the Opening of the Year Award was awarded for the first time in Slovenia this year, and with it the Young Chef's Award, Sommelier's Award and Iskra Service Award, which highlight the excellence of various areas of Slovenian gastronomy.

The first edition of the Michelin Guide was awarded to Slovenia in 2020.
