Valur has applied for a spot in the European Handball League (Meistaradeild Evrópu) for their men's team. The league is expanding to include 24 teams for the 2026-27 season. Ómar Ingi var markahæstur í Magdeburg með níu mörk sem og Matthias Gidsel hjá Fuchse Berlin. Gísli Þorgeir var með fimm mörk og gaf fjórar stoðsendingar.
