I media e la politica italiana hanno un talento veramente degno di nota, quando si tratta di improbabili personaggi in cerca d’autore: il talento pernicioso di trasformarli in interlocutori degni di nota . È successo in passato, con parabole diverse ma dinamiche simili. Oggi accade di nuovo attorno alla figura di Roberto Vannacci.
Se alla pubblicazione del suo primo libro si fosse scelta la via della cronaca marginale, quel testo intellettualmente misero e stilisticamente dozzinale sarebbe rimasto confinato nelle nicchie cui era destinato. Invece, la grancassa mediatica lo ha pompato , ne ha moltiplicato gli estimatori e ha costruito il personaggio. Il risultato è l’ennesimo figlio del sistema che si vende come eroe antisistema. Una narrazione che attecchisce su un elettorato incattivito da continui tradimenti, prima di Salvini, poi di Meloni. Anche lui è destinato a tradire, perché la propaganda va sempre a cozzare con la realtà di governo (ma tutto questo Alice non lo sa).
Domandiamoci allora: a chi giova questo fenomeno? La risposta è semplice: a tutti, tranne che alla sinistra.
Fa comodo alla destra di governo, guidata da una Giorgia Meloni le cui aspirazioni incendiarie sono state castrate dalla realpolitik. Alla fine, non senza irritarla profondamente, il signor Vannacci le strapperà diversi punti percentuali, forse costringendola addirittura a elezioni anticipate. Ma sarà comunque accolto in coalizione, anche perché consentirà al prossimo eventuale governo, sempre probabilmente a trazione Meloni, di spostare l’ago ancora più a destra. Stesse promesse, stessa fine impietosa: l’unica cosa che guadagneremo (si fa per dire) sarà un dibattito politico e sociale ancor più retrivo, violento e trogloditico di quello attuale.
Ma l’avanzata di Vannacci piace anche al centro politico. Non in chiave antimeloniana ma in chiave anti-sinistra. La speranza, nemmeno troppo segreta, è che uno spostamento ulteriore dell’asse politico verso la destra più radicale possa spaventare a tal punto l’elettorato progressista da costringerlo, ancora una volta, a turarsi il naso “contro gli estremismi”, includendo ovviamente anche quello (immaginario, almeno in Italia) di sinistra. A personaggi come Renzi non interessa essere ‘alternativa’ (quel treno è già passato), interessa il diritto di veto : al momento opportuno, smetterà di pompare Vannacci come sta facendo adesso e inizierà ad agitare lo spauracchio dell’orco nero al governo per incassare la sua personale quota di potere e limitare così qualunque azione redistributiva in caso di vittoria alle elezioni.
In questo scenario, le prospettive future appaiono fosche ma prevedibili. Se Forza Italia deciderà che stare al potere con un alleato ‘disturbante’ è comunque preferibile all’opposizione, assisteremo probabilmente a un nuovo governo Meloni con una più forte componente estremista incarnata da FN… inteso come Futuro Nazionale, non come Forza Nuova, anche se la differenza non si vede.
L’altro scenario vedrebbe la vittoria di una coalizione che difficilmente sarà in grado di fare qualcosa di sinistra. Ora, il bistrattato cittadino progressista potrebbe trovarsi a sperare che il campo largo vinca con la legge elettorale in cantiere, nella vana fantasticheria che il premio di maggioranza possa ridurre il peso della componente centrista.
Ma gli accordi sui numeri si fanno prima, dunque non si lasci tentare , lo sventurato elettore, perché la sinistra che non ha il coraggio di fare la sinistra è destinata a rivivere la storia di un secolo fa: forze moderate che si ergono a unico argine e che finiscono col favorire l’ascesa della destra più reazionaria. Solo che, un secolo fa, quell’errore di calcolo nacque dalla presuntuosa convinzione di poter ‘istituzionalizzare l’estremismo’; oggi invece i nostri liberali, senza nemmeno preoccuparsi di nasconderlo, preferiscono arginare ogni minimo sentore di sinistra piuttosto che l’estrema destra.
