Sám si ale ve čtvrtek po šesté hodině ráno zavolal na linku 112. Uvedl, že se ztratil v oblasti Českého Švýcarska, že bloudí už druhý den, že je vyčerpaný a že není schopný pokračovat v chůzi.
„Díky GPS souřadnicím, které poskytl, mohly být okamžitě zahájeny záchranné a pátrací práce v okolí Dravčích skal,“ popsala mluvčí policie Veronika Hyšplerová. Do rozsáhlé akce se zapojili strážci národního parku České Švýcarsko, hlídky několika obvodních oddělení policie, policejní psovod a profesionální hasiči ze stanic Varnsdorf, Krásná Lípa a Horní Podluží.
Ačkoliv německý senior poskytl zachráncům souřadnice místa, kde se nalézá, objeven byl nakonec až po zhruba třech hodinách intenzivního pátrání. Hledání totiž komplikoval mimořádně náročný terén.
„Oblast byla hustě zarostlá mladými smrky, kapradinami a další vegetací. K místu nevedla žádná turistická stezka ani přístupová cesta a pohyb byl možný pouze lesním porostem. Situaci navíc ztěžovalo členité skalnaté prostředí. Správa národního parku proto nasadila také drony, zatímco pátrací týmy systematicky prohledávaly vymezenou oblast o rozloze přibližně čtyř kilometrů čtverečních,“ upřesnila Veronika Hyšplerová.
Úspěch přišel až deset minut po 11. hodině. „Pohřešovaného seniora nalezla poblíž Dravčích skal v prostoru Jánského převisu policejní hlídka se strážcem národního parku. Muž se nacházel v hustém porostu mimo značené turistické trasy, ukrytý v jeskyni,“ doplnila mluvčí.
Senior nebyl zraněn, byl však silně unavený a vyčerpaný. Policisté mu poskytli vodu a doprovodili ho na nejbližší turistickou trasu. Odtud jej hasiči přepravili pomocí čtyřkolky na místo setkání se zdravotnickou záchrannou službou. Následně byl předán do péče zdravotníků a převezen k německým kolegům za státní hranici.
