A man in his 40s was killed and two people were seriously injured in a collision in Co Limerick last night.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after the car he was driving collided with another car on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen.
The incident happened shortly before 10pm and a woman aged in her 50s and a teenage girl were seriously injured.
They were brought to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment.
Two other passengers in the car - a woman aged in her 20s and a teenage boy - were also brought to UHL to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The man's body was brought to UHL where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The road is closed and local diversions are in place while a garda technical examination is under way.
Gardaí said they are aware of images and videos of the incident circulating on social media and have asked the public to refrain from sharing them.
They also appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users with camera footage, particularly dash cam footage, who were travelling on the L1135 near Pullagh between 9.30pm and 10pm are asked to make it available to gardaí.
