Italian comic book hero conquers Slovenia

An exhibition dedicated to the Slovene edition of the Italian comic series 'Nathan Never: Vetrovno mesto' and 'Nathan Never: Skrivnost zlatega vodnjaka' will open at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana on June 17, 2026. The event will feature contributions from Italian illustrator Romeo Toffanetti, who designed futuristic depictions of Trieste, Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and surrounding cross-border areas. Na Filozofski fakulteti v Ljubljani bodo 17. junija 2026 ob 10.30 odprli razstavo, posvečeno slovenski izdaji stripov Nathan Never: Vetrovno mesto in Nathan Never: Skrivnost zlatega vodnjaka. Na odprtju bo sodeloval tudi italijanski ilustrator Romeo Toffanetti, ki je z risbo oblikoval futuristične podobe Trsta, Gorice, Nove Gorice in širšega čezmejnega prostora.

Stripovski cikel slovenski prostor vključi v futuristično pripoved, ki dogajanje postavi v Trst, Gorico, Novo Gorico, Ljubljano in Bled. S tem Nathan Never v slovenski izdaji ne nastopa le kot prevod priljubljene italijanske serije, temveč tudi kot kulturni projekt, ki čezmejni prostor umešča v sodobno evropsko stripovsko imaginacijo.

Pri tem ima posebno vlogo dr. Mirt Komel, ki kot filozof, profesor na FDV in Goričan projekt umešča v umetniški, kulturološki in čezmejni kontekst.  V stripih se slovensko-italijanski prostor pojavi kot prizorišče prihodnosti, političnih napetosti, vohunskih zapletov in vprašanj skupnega bivanja ob meji.
