Fire in an abandoned house in Campanano, Rome: 68-year-old homeless man dead

A 68-year-old Romanian homeless man died in a fire at an abandoned farmhouse in Campagnano di Roma on the night of June 12. The structure had been used by other homeless individuals as temporary shelter. Firefighters arrived at the scene around 11:30 PM and extinguished the flames. The victim’s body was found charred, and his remains were taken to the Gemelli Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and whether he was already deceased when the fire started. Carabinieri also investigated the incident to understand how the fire began.
