Heydash argues that the Supreme Court would have decided differently about the Swiss if the SDP was in power.
The resignation of the head of the SDP provoked a sharp reaction from the ruling party.

Representatives of the HDZ Club of Deputies on Friday referred to the announcement of the president of the SDP stating that the Supreme Court, if the SDP was in power, would not have made the decision it announced yesterday, which the ruling party assessed as a blow to the judiciary and an attempt by the SDP to enslave the institutions.
"Hajdaš Dončić with an inappropriate and unacceptable narrative wants to enslave the institutions, which they accuse the HDZ of", he said. "Such a blow to the judiciary coming from the president of the SDP is hypocritical, unsustainable and absolutely unacceptable and I expect him to be asked for what reason he openly says that he would influence the decisions of the court".
He stressed that the judiciary in Croatia is independent and makes decisions independently, and we must all respect its decisions. This shows, according to Katičić, who is the one who wants enslavement and influence on all institutions in the Republic of Croatia, and not to transfer this to the parliamentary majority and the HDZ. It is unacceptable to influence Croatian institutions that must be and are independent, he said.
The chairman of the SDP called for radicalism
We then have more than three weeks until the end of this session to make a decision in political talks and agreements and choose three candidates, namely candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court and thus fill one of the key judicial institutions in the HR, he announced.
He emphasized that he is concerned about the behavior of the left, the radical opposition, as the president of the SDP who is turning more and more to radicalism and who does not like to put strong pressure on the judiciary and the courts, which is not just an attempt to return to some dark times when the Party was the one who judged and when judged according to undemocratic models.
I expect to see if the left opposition wants what it said during the first attempt to elect constitutional judges that they want independent candidates, with pedigree, who have expertise, knowledge, skills and a quality CV that judges who are not under political influence are selected through talks and will do it , Hungarian is interested.
The Left Opposition's attitude towards the judiciary is dangerous.
He added that we will see if the SDP will enter into talks and negotiations and if they really want the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia to be completed or we may see another SDP, which does not want to negotiate, the one we heard in the corridors that they do not like a full Constitutional Court.
The attitude towards the judiciary by the left opposition today is very dangerous, both towards the Supreme and Constitutional Court, and towards the Chief State Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Croatia, and towards all other institutions that should work independently and independently, protecting the interests of Croatian citizens, but also the interests of the Republic of Croatia, he said.
Commenting on the DP resolution on BiH
Katičić also commented on the DP's Resolution on BiH, stating that negotiations are being held between the two parties and the text of the Resolution is being agreed, in the interest of the Croatian people in BiH.
We support the equality of all constituent peoples in BiH and this should be discussed in BiH and reach a consensus of all three peoples, he said, convinced that the text of the Resolution will be in the interest of the Croatian people and the preservation of the equality of all.
The SDP would focus on the citizens.
Earlier, commenting on the Supreme Court's ruling in the Švicarac case, SDP MP Mirela Ahmetović said that the party would never try to influence the judiciary, but would find a way to protect citizens as it did in 2015.
"The SDP would focus on the Croatian citizens and would never try to influence the judiciary, but would protect the citizens and would not wave its hand like the HDZ", Ahmetović said in a statement to the media in the Croatian Parliament.
Ahmetović spoke about the Supreme Court's ruling on loans converted into Swiss francs, according to which consumers are entitled to arrears of interest, but not to the return of the overpaid capital. The same ruling was commented on Facebook by SDP President Siniša Hajdaš Dončić yesterday, pointing out that such a decision "would not have happened if the SDP was in power" and that "the SDP has cornered banks with the Swiss law and shown that the state can protect citizens".
The verdict disappointed tens of thousands
Ahmetović said that SDP, like everyone else, has the right to comment on publicly published court rulings.
The HDZ should be concerned about how these citizens feel now, as they are now entitled to only one f…
