Hanns-Seidel Foundation: Holetschek is now also Chairman of the Foundation

Klaus Holetschek has been elected as the new chairman of the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung, a foundation closely associated with the Christian Social Union (CSU). He succeeds Markus Ferber, who had previously announced he would not seek re-election. The foundation, established in 1967 and named after former Bavarian Prime Minister and CSU leader Hanns Seidel, supports political education initiatives across 75 countries worldwide.

Der Wechsel an der Spitze der CSU-nahen Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung ist vollzogen: CSU-Landtagsfraktionschef Klaus Holetschek übernimmt den Posten umgehend und zusätzlich zu seinem bisherigen Amt. In einer Mitgliederversammlung wurde Holetschek einstimmig zum Nachfolger von Markus Ferber gewählt, wie die Stiftung mitteilte. Der CSU-Europaabgeordnete, seit 2020 Vorsitzender, hatte kürzlich angekündigt, nicht erneut zu kandidieren.

Die Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung wurde 1967 gegründet und ist nach dem früheren bayerischen Ministerpräsidenten und CSU-Vorsitzenden benannt. Sie fördert nach eigenen Angaben politische Bildungsarbeit in 75 Ländern weltweit.
