Prvi oficir katamarana "Krilo Eclipse", 33-godišnji J. B. iz Podstrane, koji je 14. juna 2026. oko 11.38 sati u Splitskim vratima upravljao katamaranom iz pravca Splita prema Hvaru i pri tom se sudario sa jedrilicom koja se kretala iz pravca Trogira prema Hvaru , proveo je noć u pritvorskoj jedinici splitske policijske uprave i tokom četvrtka ujutru odveden je na ispitivanje u Županijsko državno tužilaštvo u Splitu.

Nakon što bude ispitan, očekuje se da će tužilaštvo podneti predlog sudiji istrage Županijskog suda u Splitu za određivanje istražnog zatvora, najverovatnije zbog opasnosti od uticaja na svedoke i opasnosti od ponavljanja krivičnog dela.

Prvi oficir, za kojeg se navodi da nije neiskusan pomorac, uhapšen je u sredu ujutru zbog osnovane sumnje da je počinio teško krivično delo ugrožavanja posebnih vrsta saobraćaja, a prema Krivičnom zakonu, preti mu od tri do 15 godina zatvora s obzirom na to da je kršenjem propisa o bezbednosti saobraćaja prouzrokovana smrt četiri osobe.

Savršen pregled

Tereti se, kako se navodi, da uprkos tome što je imao jasan i neometan pregled situacije, odnosno "savršen pregled" i kontrolu nad jedrilicom, nije joj ustupio prvenstvo prolaza te je vozio brzinom neprilagođenom gustini pomorskog saobraćaja u tom delu Splitskih vrata. Katamaran je, kako je utvrđeno, plovio brzinom od 32 čvora, dok se jedrilica kretala nekoliko puta manjom brzinom.

Jedrilica koja je plovila pod francuskom zastavom i na kojoj je bilo osam čeških državljana jedrila je, prema dosadašnjoj istrazi, dakle nije bila na motorni pogon u tom trenutku, i isplovila je iz Nečujma prema Hvaru, dolazeći s desne strane katamarana.

Njome je upravljao 64-godišnjak koji je takođe izgubio život u sudaru sa 56-metarskim katamaranom. Kako je već objavljeno, on nije bio zvanično prijavljeni skiper pri iznajmljivanju broda, ali je, prema informacijama, bio osposobljen za upravljanje jedrilicom.

S obzirom na to da jedrilica nije plovila na motorni pogon, imala je ograničene manevarske sposobnosti i nije mogla da izbegne sudar sa katamaranom, iako je češki skiper pokušao da reaguje u trenutku kada je sudar već bio neizbežan. Isto tako, i prvi oficir katamarana, koji se u trenutku nesreće nalazio sa kormilarom na zapovednom mostu, pokušao je da izbegne sudar smanjenjem brzine, ali je već bilo kasno.

Javno dostupni snimci

ŽDO Split je u saradnji sa splitskom policijom izuzelo sve dostupne i javno objavljene snimke nastale nakon tragedije, a detaljno će se analizirati i podaci VTS-a (Vessel Traffic Service), odnosno sistema nadzora i upravljanja pomorskim saobraćajem, koji funkcioniše kao "kontrola plovidbe" za brodove i čija je osnovna uloga da prati kretanje plovila, upozorava na opasnosti i pomaže bezbednosti plovidbe.

Dodaje se i da kapetan katamarana nije krivično prijavljen, jer u trenutku prolaska kroz Splitska vrata, koja nisu klasifikovana kao uski tjesnac, prema Pomorskom zakoniku nije morao da bude na svojoj poziciji, budući da je sve ovlašćenja za upravljanje tada imao prvi oficir.
