Die Causa um den Ankauf von Eurofighter -Jets, die seit dem Jahr 2000 die Republik und später auch die Gerichte beschäftigt hat, ist abgeschlossen: Die Freisprüche, die am 26. März in Wien in einem letzten Prozess rund um den Vorwurf der Untreue im Zusammenhang mit Gegengeschäften gefallen sind, sind rechtskräftig.

Auslöser ist, dass die Wirtschafts- und Korruptionsstaatsanwaltschaft (WKStA) die von ihr angekündigten Rechtsmittel zurückgezogen hat. Das bestätigt ein Sprecher der WKStA am Dienstag auf KURIER-Anfrage. Damit ist die Sache erledigt.

Einem ehemaliger Luftfahrtmanager und zwei mutmaßlichen Lobbyisten war Untreue vorgeworfen worden, laut WKStA sollen die drei dem ehemaligen EADS-Manager H. geholfen haben, eine Schwarzgeld-Kassa zulasten des Konzerns einzurichten. EADS (heute Airbus) war Teil des Eurofighter-Konsortiums und hat später innerhalb dieses Zusammenschlusses die Verantwortung für die mit der Republik Österreich vereinbarten Gegengeschäfte übernommen.

Der Tatbestand der Untreue sei aber auszuschließen gewesen, begründete der Vorsitzende des Schöffensenats dann die Freisprüche. Letztlich habe das Unternehmen EADS von den Zahlungen profitiert und nur so die Eurofighter-Flugzeuge überhaupt verkaufen können.
