– Donald Trump kommer ikke etter meg bare på grunn av mine slemme tweets, sier Newsom i videoen.
– Han kommer etter meg fordi jeg vurderer å stille som presidentkandidat. For å ta meg, går han etter min kone, fortsetter han.
Gavin Newsom er demokratenes guvernør i California og har de siste årene markert seg som en av Donald Trumps skarpeste kritikere.
Han har flere ganger havnet i konflikt med Trump om blant annet innvandring, klima, koronatiltak og delstatenes rettigheter.
Newsom nevnes også jevnlig som en mulig demokratisk presidentkandidat ved et framtidig valg, men har så langt ikke kunngjort noe kandidatur.
