Győrffy Balázs lett a Veszprém Megyei Gazdakörök Szövetségének új elnöke – írja a MAGOSZ a honlapján . A szervezet még június 8-án tartotta tisztújító közgyűlését. Győrffy korábban a Nemzeti Agrárgazdasági Kamara elnöke volt, de európai parlamenti képviselősége mellett erről a tisztségéről is lemondott a 2024-es botránya után.

Győrffy Balázs 2024 augusztusában bántalmazott három embert, köztük egy nőt, akinek eltörte az orrát. A Fidesz jelentette be, hogy az EP-képviselő „ittas állapotban vitába keveredett egy hölggyel, és a vita tettlegességig fajult. Győrffy Balázs viselkedésére nincs mentség, aki ilyen vállalhatatlanul és elfogadhatatlanul cselekszik, annak azonnal távoznia kell a közösségünkből.” Győrffy elismerte tettét és lemondott. Súlyos testi sértés és más bűncselekmények miatt indult ellene eljárás. Végül jóvátétellel úszta meg az ügyet, mert a nőnek nem keletkeztek maradandó sérülései. A 24.hu akkor azt írta, a az ügyészség azután szüntette meg az eljárást Győrffyvel szemben, miután kifizetett csaknem 2 millió forint jóvátételt a három érintettnek.
