Why is Bosnia and Herzegovina last in the group despite all teams having the same points and goal difference

Nakon remija protiv Kanade (1:1) i poraza od Švicarske (4:1), izabranici Sergeja Barbareza više nemaju prostora za kalkulacije.

Pobjeda protiv Katara gotovo sigurno bi nam osigurala plasman u nokaut fazu Svjetskog prvenstva, najvjerovatnije kroz plasman među najbolje trećeplasirane selekcije.

FIFA-in sistem gotovo sve vodi prema istom protivniku

Za razliku od ranijih turnira, Svjetsko prvenstvo 2026. godine igra se sa 12 grupa, a dalje prolaze po dvije najbolje reprezentacije iz svake grupe, uz osam najboljih trećeplasiranih timova.

Trećeplasirane reprezentacije ne ulaze u dodatni žrijeb, već se raspoređuju prema unaprijed definisanoj FIFA-inoj tabeli.

U slučaju da Bosna i Hercegovina završi kao trećeplasirana reprezentacija grupe B i izbori prolazak dalje, gotovo svi mogući scenariji vode je na pobjednika grupe D.

Prema dostupnim projekcijama, od ukupno 330 mogućih kombinacija prolaska trećeplasiranih reprezentacija, čak u 329 slučajeva Bosna i Hercegovina bi igrala protiv prvoplasirane ekipe iz grupe D.

Samo jedan scenario vodi prema grupi E

Postoji tek jedna matematička kombinacija u kojoj bi Zmajevi kao trećeplasirani iz grupe B završili na pobjedniku grupe E.

Da bi se to dogodilo, među osam najboljih trećeplasiranih reprezentacija morale bi se plasirati ekipe iz grupa B, E, G, H, I, J, K i L, dok bi trećeplasirani timovi iz grupa A, C, D i F ostali bez prolaza.

Takav rasplet trenutno djeluje veoma malo vjerovatan.

Ko bi mogao čekati Zmajeve?

Ako Bosna i Hercegovina uspije savladati Katar i izboriti plasman među 32 najbolje reprezentacije svijeta, najrealniji protivnici u prvoj nokaut rundi dolazili bi iz grupe D.

Prema trenutnom stanju i projekcijama, među kandidatima za prvo mjesto u toj grupi nalaze se Sjedinjene Američke Države, Turska i Australija.

S druge strane, samo u vrlo specifičnom raspletu Zmajevi bi mogli završiti na pobjedniku grupe E, gdje se kao favoriti izdvajaju Njemačka i Obala Slonovače.

Ipak, prije svih kalkulacija Bosna i Hercegovina mora odraditi najvažniji zadatak – savladati Katar i izboriti mjesto u nokaut fazi Svjetskog prvenstva.
