Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic discussed economic, political and security issues with US economist Jeffrey Sachs, an post on the president’s Instagram said.

It added that Sachs is in Belgrade for 1st Forum on Sustainability and Connectivity, organised by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).

The post said they discussed “major international economic, political and security challenges, as well as Serbia’s position amid complex geopolitical circumstances”. Vucic said they also discussed he development of industry and artificial intelligence, and the role of new technologies in shaping the future of the global economy.

He said that Serbia has significant technology and innovation potential and has already positioned itself as a participant in global technological development.

Vucic said they “addressed challenges related to preserving political stability, independent decision-making and economic development”.
