Hún ákvað því að taka upp morgunspjall sem hún á reglulega við Mæju vinkonu sína sem búsett er á Hvammstanga og sló það í gegn.

Hvernig voru viðtökurnar?

„Fáránlegar,“ segi Mæja.

„Já, fáránlega miklar. Ég held að það sé eitthvað myndband sem hefur verið horft á 45 þúsund sinnum eða eitthvað. Hver nennir að hlusta á þetta bull? Þetta er bara rugl,“ tekur Herdís undir.

„Við upplifum þetta bara sem gaman fyrir okkur og fíflagang,“ segir Mæja hlæjandi.

Langaði að vera með

Þær segjast ekkert kunna á tæknina.

„Ég kann ekkert á þetta, og við hvorugar. Við gerum bara eitthvað.“

Þær fikri sig bara áfram enda segja þær mikilvægt að fylgjast með tækninni til að halda sér ungum og geta tekið þátt í samfélaginu.

„Mig langaði bara til að prófa og fá að vera með, gera einhverja vitleysu og skemmta sér. Þá er maður búinn að haka í boxið og getur sagt við langömmubörnin að einu sinni var ég á TikTok. Þá segja þau: Hvað er það? Því þá er það komið úr tísku.“

Langa að upplifa sem mest

Stöllurnar hafa verið vinkonur frá því þær voru litlar stelpur. Þær elska áskoranir og vilja nýta tímann sem best til að upplifa sem mest.

„Ef einhver segir við okkur: Þið getið þetta ekki, þá byrjar maður,“ segir Herdís spennt.

„En við skulum ekki bjóða því heim Herdís, nú stoppar þú. Við viljum ekki áskoranir,“ segir Mæja.

„Jú það er svo margt sem maður á eftir að gera.“

Og nefnir til að mynda Zip line í Hveragerði. Þær hafa kynnst fullt af fólki í gegnum miðilinn en segja það koma þeim virkilega á óvart að fólk yfir höfuð horfi á myndböndin þeirra.

„Já hver nennir að horfa á þetta bull?“ spyrja þær.

Aðdáendur á öllum aldri

„Ég var í fermingarveislu hjá frænku minni um daginn og hún spurði hvenær við ætluðum að halda áfram því krakkarnir í bekknum voru að tala um þetta. Og ég bara bíddu þau eru fjórtán ára að horf á einhverjar gamlar kellingar. Við skiljum þetta ekki.“

Sífellt fleiri fulltrúar eldri kynslóðarinnar hafa sótt TikTok sem virðist höfða til allra aldurshópa.

Hvað segja vinirnir og barnabörnin, en fólk á Hvammstanga?

„Það er kannski ekki mikið rætt um þetta á Hvammstanga en ég á fullt af barnabörnum og þeim finnst þetta fyndið og skemmtilegt og hvetja mann áfram,“ segir Mæja.

Þær hvetja fólk á þeirra aldri til að prufa miðilinn og skemmta sér í leiðinni. Það er að minnsta kosti ljóst að ef hláturinn lengi lífið verði þessar vinkonur mörg hundruð ára.
