Ghalibaf je naglasio da je nepokolebljivost iranskog naroda "bila ključna za bacanje na koljena najmoćnijih svjetskih armija", ističući da se trenutni pregovori suštinski razlikuju od prethodnih rundi.

Prema riječima šefa iranskog pregovaračkog tima, ključna razlika u odnosu na prošlost jeste to što današnja diplomatija Irana ima direktno pokriće u postignućima i pobjedama na bojnom polju.

"U pregovorima koji se vode kao oblik borbe nema ni predaje ni praznih slogana. Pobijedili smo Sjedinjene Američke Države i cionistički režim (Izrael), koji slove za vodeće vojne sile, i nismo im dozvolili da ostvare nijedan od devet proklamovanih ciljeva", poručio je Ghalibaf.

On je dodao da Iran bez pregovora ne bi ostvario svoje ciljeve, napomenuvši da je diplomatskim putem dobijeno "višestruko više" nego što se nastojalo postići isključivo vojnom akcijom.

Ultimatum Trumpu i sukobi tokom pregovora

Ghalibaf se posebno osvrnuo na ulogu Libana i Hezbollaha, izrazivši veliku zahvalnost narodu Libana, a naročito šiitima i Hezbollahu, koji su tokom agresije podnijeli žrtvu od blizu 4.000 šehida (mučenika). Kako navodi, dok je Iran bio pod primirjem, oni su nastavili borbu i trpili gubitke.

"Jedan od glavnih razloga zašto nisam želio prihvatiti ovu ulogu jeste činjenica da je Donald Trump bio planer, komandant i nadzornik atentata na Qasema Soleimanija. General Soleimani je bio drag cijelom islamskom svijetu, ali za mene lično je bio nešto sasvim posebno. Mislite li da mi je bilo lako sjesti i finalizirati tekst s takvom osobom?"

Ipak, kako zaključuje, nakon što niko drugi nije predložen, a njegovi prijedlozi nisu prihvaćeni, morao je ispuniti dužnost koja mu je dodijeljena. "Nismo tu da radimo samo ono što volimo, već ono što naša dužnost zahtijeva od nas", zaključio je predsjednik iranskog Parlamenta.
