V Splitskih Vratih, blizu otočka Mrduja, se je danes malo pred poldnevom zgodila huda pomorska nesreča, v kateri sta trčila katamaran in jadrnica, ki je plula pod francosko zastavo. Slednja se je po trčenju potopila, poroča net.hr .
Po neuradnih podatkih portala, je bilo na jadrnici osem oseb, neuradno državljanov Češke. Štiri so rešili, tri so umrle, še eno iščejo. V iskanje na območju nesreče je vključenih več plovil. Rešene potnike so na kraju nesreče oskrbeli reševalci, bolnišničnega zdravljenja niso potrebovali, je sporočila splitska policija.

Iskalno-reševalno akcijo koordinira Nacionalni center za koordinacijo iskanja in reševanja na morju (MRCC) Reka. V iskanju sodelujejo reševalni čolni Pristaniške uprave Split in njenih podružnic, policijska plovila Pomorske in letališke policije Split, Nujna medicinska pomoč, helikopterska enota in druge službe, specializirane za izredne razmere na morju in kopnem.
Na kraju dogodka bo stekla preiskava, ki jo bo vodila namestnica okrožnega državnega tožilca, sodeloval bo tudi prometni izvedenec, pomagala bo policija.
"Nacionalni center za koordinacijo iskanja in reševanja na morju (MRCC) Reka je obvestil Ministrstvo za morje, promet in infrastrukturo o napredku usklajene iskalno-reševalne akcije za več oseb, ki so umrle v hudi pomorski nesreči na območju Splitskih vrat," so medtem sporočili s hrvaškega ministrstva. "Prijavo o trčenju dveh plovil je splitska pristaniška kapitanija prejela ob 11.34," so dodali.
Po družbenih omrežjih so zaokrožili tudi posnetki, očitno nastali kmalu po nesreči. "V morju je človek, krvav je," se sliši moškega, ki ravno takrat pluje mimo. Jutranji list medtem piše, da je bil v nesrečo vpleten potniški katamaran zasebnega podjetja Krilo Eclipse.
Za portal Morski.hr je medtem skopo spregovoril splitski luški kapitan Željko Kuštera . "Prosim, pustite mi to linijo prosto," je na kratko pozval novinarje, medtem ko je sam hitel na kraj nesreče. Tja so bila napotena plovila reševalnih služb, dve ladji pristaniške uprave in ladja pomorske policije, na območju nesreče pa je še nekaj drugih plovil, ki sodelujejo v iskanju. Na terenu vlada velika negotovost, medtem ko reševalne službe prečesavajo vodo v iskanju pogrešanih. Po izjavah nekaterih pretresenih prič je jadrnica plula z jadri, kar bi pomenilo, da je imela prednost pred plovilom z motorjem.
Dalmacija Danas piše, da je katamaran – sodeč po navigacijskih podatkih – v času nesreče plul na redni liniji iz Splita proti Braču, prevažal je 180 potnikov. Zgrajen je bil leta 2001 in doseže hitrost do 42 vozlov (okoli 78 km/h), zaradi česar je ena najhitrejših potniških ladij, ki plujejo na hrvaški obali.
