Fatal road accident: caught at a car intersection Cyclist died on the roads

Auf Rügen ist ein Radfahrer von einem Auto angefahren und tödlich verletzt worden. Der 66-Jährige war aus Glowe kommend auf einer Landstraße in Richtung Sagard unterwegs, als er zum Linksabbiegen ansetzte, wie die Polizei mitteilte. Dabei habe er offenbar ein heranfahrendes Auto übersehen, dessen Fahrerin trotz schneller Bremsung nicht mehr ausweichen konnte.

Durch den Zusammenstoß sei der Radfahrer zurückgeschleudert worden, während sein Fahrrad gegen ein hinter ihm fahrendes Auto prallte, hieß es weiter. Auch ein Rettungshubschrauber kam demnach zum Einsatz, der 66-Jährige starb jedoch trotz Wiederbelebungsmaßnahmen noch am Unfallort. Die Landstraße blieb für etwa vier Stunden gesperrt.
