Nogometaši Švice so v zadnje četrt ure navdušili na stadionu SoFi v Los Angelesu in v 2. krogu skupine B premagali Bosno in Hercegovino s 4:1.

V skupini B sta se obe uvodni tekmi končali z 1:1. Bosna in Hercegovina je remizirala s Kanado, Švica pa s Katarjem. Tokrat sta mreži 74 minut mirovali. Selektor Murat Yakin je v 72. minuti v igro poslal Johana Manzambija in Rubena Vargasa, ki sta prevesila tehtnico na stran Švice.

Bosna in Hercegovina ni uspela ponoviti zelo dobre predstave proti Kanadi. Imela je le tri strele v okvir vrat in 38-odstotno posest žoge. V zadnjem krogu potrebuje zmago nad Katarjem v sredo v Seattlu.
Brez velikih priložnosti v prvem polčasu V prvem polčasu so imeli Švicarji terensko premoč, a tudi 69-odstotna posest žoge je bila bolj jalova. Obe izbrani vrsti sta le enkrat sprožili v okvir vrat.
V 10. minuti je Granit Xhaka podal v kazenski prostor, napadalec Dan Ndoye pa je z leve strani zatresel le zunanji del mreže. V 23. minuti je Remo Freuler poskusil s 23 metrov, a je žoga zletela malce mimo vrat.

Igralci BiH-a so se disciplinirano branili. Edini strel v okvir vrat je sprožil Amar Memić sedem minut pred odmorom, a je Gregor Kobel žogo zlahka ujel.
Vasilj preprečil vodstvo Švice V 56. minuti je Remo Freuler z desne strani podal pred vrata, Ndoye je poskusil s škarjicami s petih metrov. Vratar Nikola Vasilj je iztegnil roki in žogo odbil prek vrat. Stranski sodnik je dvignil zastavico, zato tudi zadetek ne bi veljal.
Vasilj se je izkazal tudi v 63. minuti, ko je preprečil avtogol branilca Nikole Katića, ki je z glavo preusmeril žogo proti lastni mreži po dvoboju z Breelom Embolom. V 69. minuti Amar Dedić poskusil z močnim strelom od daleč, a se je Kobel izkazal s parado.

Izjemen volej Manzambija dve minuti po vstopu v igro Ključna je bila menjava švicarskega selektorja Yakina v 72. minuti. V igro je poslal najmlajšega člana reprezentance, 20-letnega Johana Manzambija, ki je le tri minute zatem načel mrežo BiH-a. Vargas je z leve strani poslal predložek v kazenski prostor, Memić je zelo slabo izbil žogo z glavo. Sredi kazenskega prosta jo je z volejem z desno nogo zadel Manzambi in premagal vratarja Vasilja.

Muharemović prejel rdeči karton v 80. minuti BiH, ki ni izgubila na prejšnjih devetih tekmah, je v 80. minuti zaradi rdečega kartona ostala brez branilca Tarika Muharemovića, ki je pokosil napadalca Embola, potem ko je že stekel sam proti vratom.

Močan strel Mahmića za znižanje na 3:1 Častni gol za BiH je v tretji minuti sodnikovega podaljška dosegel 21-letni Ermin Mahmić, ki je v igro prišel dve minuti prej. To je bil njegov prvi zadetek v dresu članske reprezentance.
Vratar Kobel je podajo iz kota z roko izbil na rob kazenskega prostora. Mahmić je z desnico zabil žogo pod prečko s hitrostjo 115 km/h.
